Last month, on a rainy, cold Saturday morning, Challenger employees rolled out of bed on their day off to take part in Challenger\u2019s \u201cCram the Van\u201d event. The event was put together by Challenger employees to encourage the community to collect non-perishable food items for the Food Bank of Waterloo Region<\/a>. Boxes upon boxes were packed into Challenger\u2019s \u201cOn the Road Recruiter\u201d van and personally delivered to the Foodbank.<\/p>\n

This year, the Challenger recruiting van was parked outside of the Zehrs on Holiday Inn Drive in Cambridge. Challenger\u2019s Social Committee worked closely with Zehrs and the Food Bank in order to arrange this activity. Even though it kicked off with a slower start and less than ideal weather conditions, it picked right up in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

In the end, Challenger was able to collect and donate 805 LBS of non-perishable food items!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

This contribution couldn\u2019t have been possible without the very generous help of the caring members of our community. A special thanks also goes out Vlad Ureche, Lisa Muggridge, Nathanial Smith and his 9-year-old son, Rielly, for donating their time on a Saturday to spend a chilly seven hours collecting these items. Also, a big shout out to all of our other Challenger employees who came out to show their support: Geoff Topping, Cindy Forsyth, Kim Gould and Lisa Phillips with her son. Thank you all for Going the Distance<\/em>!<\/p>\n

From all of us here at Challenger, we thank all of those who have contributed their time or finances, or food items towards the \u201cCram the Van\u201d event and other Foodbank initiatives!<\/p>\n
